DRAWING ON EXPERIENCE.

Do you have any creative talents you’d like to share?

In a previous life I was a halfway decent artist/illustrator. I am also a pretty good automotive mechanic.

GOING THE EXTRACURRICULAR MILE.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

P90X, running, and paying too much for streaming services. Pre-pandemic I was also going to the gym and playing soccer and volleyball.

THE CALM BEFORE THE SCORM.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

SCORM. It stands for Shareable Content Object Reference Model. And it gets even more interesting from there. It is a set of technical standards for eLearning products that provides the communication method and data models that allow eLearning content and LMSs to work together. It tells programmers how to write code so that what they build will “play well” with other eLearning software. It is the most widely used eLearning standard available. It’s the best.

THE MATRIX IS EVERYWHERE. IT IS ALL AROUND US. EVEN NOW, IN THIS VERY ORANGE CONFERENCE ROOM.

What movie title best sums up your working day?

The Matrix. But from the perspective of the machines. Those anomalies need to be “sorted out.”

AH HA! NOW THE TABLES HAVE BEEN TURNED!

If you could pick one superpower for work, what would it be and why? And what’s your superhero name?

The most useful superpower for work would be the ability to swap places with the client so I could troubleshoot on their computer and see what they were seeing. Captain Flop Flip.

I DON’T WANNA GROW UP, I’M A TOYS R US KID.

What would it surprise your coworkers to know about you?

I worked at a Toys R Us for two years during high school. First out on the floor then later in the electronics department. I still have flashbacks when I hear one of the 12 or so Christmas songs that played on a loop all day.

WINE AND DASH.

What’s the most memorable or unusual thing to happen to you while working here?

The most memorable thing to happen that I was a part of, was our company trip to a winery. We took a party bus, had dinner, and a private tour and tasting. The whole thing was a blast. Also, I have never seen an entire company have a footrace to a bathroom before.

DEAD-END JOBS.

If you could hire any historical figure to bring in to give a motivational speech to MoTech employees, who would it be and why?

Steve Jobs. He can give the speech about whatever he wants. But afterwards, he and I are sitting down together and watching as I go over every single change I have ever had to make for iOS.

AND CREATING A POWER GENERATOR THAT RUNS ON SARCASM.

If you were a mad scientist with endless time and funds, what wild experiment would you undertake?

Unlocking superpowers in the human genome.

PUPPY LOVE.

What was your favorite toy as a child?

Pound Puppies. Specifically, the grey one with brown ears and spots.
