OUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE. MOTECH ENJOYS VINTAGE FUN AT THE UP-DOWN ARCADE BAR

When employees gathered and voted on an activity for the third quarter company outing, bowling and Top Golf resoundingly lost out to an evening at a new drinking establishment with “two floors of games.” Games? Drinking? It was all the group needed to hear.

Up-Down St. Louis in the Central West End houses more than 60 beautifully restored vintage arcade, skeeball and pinball games from the 1980s and ‘90s. The rustic space also boasts an outdoor area that features life-size Jenga and Connect Four.

MoTech founder and president Dick Estes challenged several of his employees to take him on in Dance Dance Revolution. While Dick may have been limited to one move, he more than proved he knew how to bust it. When a skeeball tournament broke out among the flowing free drinks from the bar, it was Creative’s Jillian Low who bowled her way to the top of the leaderboards to take home the $50 prize.

The next day, employees with a memory of the evening extolled the fond recollections of their favorite childhood video games that only a pocketful of jingling tokens can bring.
